The patient was suffering from biliary atresia, a rare condition in new-born infants in which the common bile duct between the liver and the small intestine is blocked or absent. He had undergone surgery at one of the hospitals in Mumbai for the same but as it was unsuccessful; the child now needs to undergo a liver transplant.

“We have consulted Dr. Mohamed Rela and his team from Global Hospitals Chennai and are hopeful to get the liver transplant of my son done in the first week of February 2017”, says the father of the infant.
